Iziko means ‘a hearth’ in the language of isiXhosa and symbolises the cultural hub of South Africa. We aim to manage and promote all of South Africa’s Heritage sites to all local and international interests, for the benefit of future generations.

We offer a variety of school programs designed to tech learners about Art, National and Social History as well as the Planetarium program which informs learners about our galaxy.
We also offer a range of public programs which encourage inter-generational dialogue and debate. This program provides the public an opportunity to participate in educational and meaningful events aimed at fostering growth and community
